You Don't Have to Figure It All Out

Proverbs 3:5-6 · NLT

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

How much do we really trust in the Lord with all our heart? It's easy to say, but can be very difficult to do. The next sentence offers a solution: “do not depend on your own understanding.”

When I'm not trusting in the Lord, it's often because I'm trying to understand everything with my finite brain instead of trusting his infinite wisdom. By staying in prayer and reading the Word, I seek his will — and he directs my path.

Today's Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, help me trust in you instead of my own understanding. I believe that your path is better than my path. Show me your will and direct my steps so I may live in your love and joy. Amen.
